How to Make Pumpkin Puree

Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Blender or food processor

Instructions

  • Wash pumpkin and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Remove the seeds from the pumpkin (See Note 1).
  • Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot.
  • Set a rack in the pot and place your cut pumpkin (or whole pumpkin if it fits) into the pot.
  • Close the lid and set the valve to sealing position.
  • Cook at high pressure for 15 minutes.
  • When time is up, set the valve to venting position for a quick pressure release.
  • Ensure the red floating valve is down before opening the lid.
  • Scoop out the pumpkin flesh into a bowl or colander and drain any excess liquid.
  • Blend in a blender or food processor until smooth. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. If you are using a large pumpkin, cut the pumpkin in half, then remove the seeds. If you are using a smaller pumpkin that can fit in the Instant Pot without cutting, cut a circle around the stem of the pumpkin and scoop out the seeds.
