In a bowl, add all the sauce ingredients. Mix until well blended and set aside.
Heat 2-3 tbsp of sesame oil in a pan. Add the garlic and ginger and stir fry for about 15 seconds.
Add the chicken into the pan and sear until both sides are slightly brown.
Pour the sauce mixture into the pan.
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer on medium-low heat for about 15 minutes, flipping midway to ensure the sauce coats the chicken thoroughly.
Remove the lid and turn the heat up to medium or medium high. Continue to stir the chicken and allow the sauce to reduce and thicken (about 4-5 minutes).
Add the basil leaves and stir until wilted.
Serve with white rice and enjoy!
