It’s April 2020. You would think that we’re scrambling to get our taxes done and excitement for Easter is building up, but we’re all quarantined and now ordered to wear a face covering/mask at all times when outdoors. Only essential workers are out there, providing us with what we need to survive and fighting to keep those diagnosed with COVID-19 alive. It’s chaotic and depressing, and those of us who are home with our children, babysitter or not, should be forever grateful. I know I am 🙋♀️, even though she can drive me CRAAAAZZZYY! 😵
Working from home hasn’t been easy with a toddler, but during off-hours, it has allowed me to relive my passion again. I think parents can all agree that keeping ourselves busy helps us maintain our sanity! For me, the therapy comes from cooking and experimenting with recipes for meals that my family enjoys OR I want them to be guinea pigs for 😈! I also love documenting my journey and experiences, both successes and failures, even though I’m not the best of writers 😅. This brought me back to nearly 10 years ago when I started my first blog. (Has it been a decade?!) It was the perfect method to channeling my everyday passions. One of my most memorable posts is the following from AUGUST 2010, upon a request I made to my crazy family 😁.
Good memories 🤣. Well, after a decade, I am back with my own domain! This time with my iPhone 8 Plus (rather than a Canon PowerShot), taking photos of my culinary concoctions in all angles and lighting, without asking for my crazy family’s contributions! Yes, I know, I know … I need to upgrade my phone, but this will do for now!
Most importantly, I am hoping that this blog can serve as an outlet for what I am passionate about – cooking with love, using beautiful dishes as centerpieces and uniting loved ones with good food. I am excited to launch this food blog and compile the best (and worst) recipes I have tried and tested and hang ’em on Rack of Lam. Welcome!
