When I’m not working, performing mommy duties or cooking, I’m either blogging about food, reading recipes like novels or catching a movie with Steve over some snacks. When am I not doing something food-related 🤷♀️? Well, here is a quick roundup of a few of our favorites and recently sampled snacks.
SNYDER’S HONEY MUSTARD & ONION PRETZEL PIECES
I blame my sister for getting me hooked on these. Plain or honey wheat pretzels are great, but can be a bit drab when your palate’s in search of some excitement. As it states on the bag, these honey mustard & onion pretzel pieces are “BURSTING with flavor,” and I am giving you my nod of affirmation here! If you like a good crunch, salt, sugar and a whole lot of oomph, you’ve gotta try these. Warning: can lead to halitosis.
HONEY BUTTER CHIP
We stumbled upon these at HMart and picked up a bag because they were on sale and have been HOOKED since then. There’s a gazillion ingredients but I try not to look at the list. They’re crispy, airy, buttery and brings you back to your first crush in Junior High. The only negative comment I have is, there isn’t enough in the bag.
SNAKYARD SHIITAKE MUSHROOM
I was excited about trying these Shiitake Mushroom snacks I learned about on social media because mushroom chips are just, unheard of. Either they’re really good or they’re really bad! I’ve had 2 bags entirely to myself thus far (Steve is not a fan) and I must say, the 1st experience was much more enjoyable. During my 2nd bag, I started feeling nauseated from excessive shrooms and the overpowering seasoning. I mean, you can only have so much.
KIRKLAND ORGANIC ROASTED SEAWEED
These are addicting. Seaweed usually comes in small packages with say, 8-10 sheets per pack. However, Costco decided they would up the seaweed game by 1) making them organic and 2) putting more into their packages! These do not leave greasy residue on your fingers like some brands do and are lightly salted. Good job Costco!
GOLDEN ISLAND PORK JERKY
Had snacks in place of a meal? Guilty! I wouldn’t exactly have these as a meal replacement, but these pork jerkies are savory and umami. They make the perfect snack for someone looking for some extra protein in their diet, or a carnivore who is fond of Asian flavors and smokiness in their meats. Costco fans all know where to find these!
WANG SEASONED SEAWEED
Steve loves snacking on seaweed, so we’ve sampled a good number of them. These are by far the best we’ve tried to-date in terms of flavor, seasoning and grease level. However, as I’ve mentioned before, seaweed manufacturers can get a tad stingy with the sheets included in each pack, and this is the perfect example. Nonetheless, we keep a stash in our house because they’re too damn good!
