While I was preparing my Banana Walnut Muffins, I started setting aside some bananas to freeze and thought it would be a great idea to share this tip, for those of you who enjoy making smoothies.
Besides using ripe bananas for banana bread or banana muffins, they can be sliced up and frozen for future use (ie: to be thrown into a blender for smoothies). Slicing them up creates less work for the blender blades and still results in a nice, smooth, slushy texture.
Simply chop chop chop (I use the peel to avoid having to wash a cutting board).
Then spread them out in a freezer-safe ziploc bag.
Store it flat in a freezer and use as needed.
